Betterware Plc

Homeware retailer Betterware prides itself on a personal service, taking and delivering orders for its well-known product range directly to the customer’s door. Finding that its paper-based order fulfilment methods were time consuming, had varying delivery time and could introduce errors, the company reviewed its systems and decided to adopt a technology solution to streamline its operational processes. It chose Unipower Solution’s seldom connect, Transactional Catalogue CD to enable its nationwide network of 800 sales co-ordinators to submit customer orders electronically to head office for processing and fulfilment. The new online ordering system reduces delivery time and order errors, improves customer satisfaction and adds an extra week to the sales year.

Tesco

Unipower provided Tesco with an offline customer ordering system called Shopping Magic. Unipower’s Shopping Magic software was the first of its kind and enabled Tesco to become the dominant home shopping brand by allowing their customers to easily and securely order their weekly groceries online at a time when internet access and call charges were high and connections and downloads were slow. The Shopping Magic CD’s made available to Tesco consumers also enabled them to overcome the frustrations of severed internet connections during order placement by providing a way of ordering offline and only connecting online at the time of actual order placement and payment. The feature-rich capabilities of this software offered Tesco customers an unparalleled home shopping experience and set the standard for some online developments that have since followed.

Esselunga

Unipower delivered the technology and design for Esselunga’s premium Esselunga.it home shopping website. Unipower produced a bespoke transactional WebStore solution especially for Esselunga to meet the needs of their Italian supermarket business. This included allowing customers to be entirely specific with their orders e.g. thickness for slices of ham through to supporting flexible delivery options. Unipower also designed the look and feel of the website which as an additional channel to Esselunga’s premium quality store brand had to offer an equal shopping experience to their home shopping customers.

Royal Ahold 

Unipower provided Royal Ahold’s, Gall & Gall wine reseller business with a transactional WebStore and offline customer ordering system which was customised as per Gall & Gall’s specifications. The software developed for Gall & Gall enabled them to give their customers access to an exclusive shopping experience and specialist service. Unipower provided Gall & Gall the means to support their specialist advisory services for wine and spirit enthusiasts along with support for a “Wine Cellar Manager”, “24-hour delivery service” and “Real-time auction” service. All of which were integrated to Gall & Gall’s legacy EPoS system, empowering them to offer their customer’s flexible payment options and to enhance the customer service they were able to offer to in-store customers.
